Canadian Fly in Fishing Trip for Northern Pike, Lake Trout and Arctic Grayling in the Northwest Territories of Canada.
How will I get to Yellowknife?
To guarantee easy, direct flights, it’s best to fly into Edmonton, Alberta, where you will board a local carrier for the short flight to Yellowknife
Canadian North, First Air, West Jet, Air Canada have daily flights from Edmonton to Yellowknife. It is about a one and one hour flight. You will find the local carriers very polite and friendly.
If you require overnight accommodations during your stay in Edmonton, we recommend staying at the Nisku Inn (780) 955-7744. Special rates are available at this hotel, so be sure to tell them you are a Hearne Lake Lodge Guest.
You will be departing early AM to come into the lodge, so it is best to plan a night stay in Yellowknife on the way here.
We recommend the Chateau Nova Hotel , Yellowknife Inn or the Explorer Hotel during your travels. Hearne Lake Lodge guests are given special rates at all of these hotels, so make sure to tell them you are visiting with us.
You will be returning to Yellowknife at the end of your visit in the AM so you may be able to make it home the same day, depending on your destination and connections. It is a short 15 minute float plane flight from Yellowknife to Hearne Lake Lodge.
We use Air Tindi Float Charter, utilizing a Twin Otter, Single Otter, Cessna Caravan or Cessna 185 depending on the number of guest traveling to the lodge that day.
Air Tindi We believe the float plane ride is part of the northern experience so click on the above link to view their well maintained fleet. They are professional at what they do.
