What makes us standout? At Hearne Lake Lodge, a fly in fishing destination, we are fishers serving fishers and owner operators that live full time at our fly in only fishing lodge 45 miles east of Yellowknife NWT Canada. We have limited ourselves to 8 fishers in house at one time since opening in 1998. This allows us to work very closely with you from booking to departure, ensuring the fly in fishing experience you deserve in Canada's Northwest Territories for Northern Pike, Lake Trout, Arctic Grayling, and Whitefish, and the odd river Walleye.
We offer the Canada fly in only outpost atmosphere with a full lodge facility. After a long day fishing in "The Land Of The Midnight Sun" relax with friends and let us feed and pamper you. With the immense amount of accessible shoreline, islands and bays, river and lake fishing, you will experience Northern Canada fly in fishing as it was meant to be.
Our one price says it all. Inclusive form Yellowknife are: tax, float plane charter, fishing license, all meals and accommodation, mix and juices, unlimited boat and fuel use, all linen and towels. We also offer free calls in Canada or US and free wireless internet access for those who have to stay in touch. Laptop supplied.

We don't use guides because you won't need them. Except for the odd shore lunch and meal of the smaller fish, we have been catch and release since our start in 1998 so the great fishing starts at the dock. We have created the ideal experience for the "serious, independent fisher" but at the same time offer all the support that a less experienced person would want. You'll be supplied with detailed maps and two-way radio to stay in touch with the lodge or other boats, so if you can operate an outboard or want to learn, you are set. For those who prefer a more "social" experience, I am on the lake every day assisting, guiding, instructing or just "showing the ropes." You may want to take advantage of the supplied fly rods and free lessons. While some of our best fish every year are caught right from the dock, the true wilderness experience begins just minutes away from the lodge.
All of our boats are equipped with 15 or 20 HP new 4 stroke motors, flat floors, swivel padded seats, sonar, maps and 40 watt two way radio. Your comfort and safety is our first concern. Making this the trip of a life time runs a close second.

We are always ready to talk fishing and all questions are important when planning an extreme fishing trip of this magnitude. I will put you onto the fish and Lucile will feed and pamper you like royalty, with in house home cooking and pastries. We are a fishing lodge first, so don't worry you won't go hungry if you miss a meal due to the superb fishing.
We work on repeat business and will give you references for the week you wish to visit. We always tell it like it is and will never book you at a time that won't suit your fishing style and expectations.
Living at our lodge allows us to open earlier and close later than other lodges at our latitude. Opening second calender week of June for the Northern Pike spawn and closing second week of September after the peak of Lake Trout spawn.
Peak fly fishing dates are June and September for Northern Pike and Lake Trout. The Grayling fishing is hot all season. Whitefish are on last week of August through first week of September spawn. Make sure to check out our Fly Fishing Section for lures and technique.
